When volunteers at Saving Great Animals first met Daisy, she was a nervous, quiet little spaniel who had spent most of her life in a backyard with no love or attention.
She wouldn’t make eye contact and flinched at every sound. But with a little patience and a lot of kindness, Daisy’s story changed completely.
Her foster family gave her something she had never experienced before — safety. Within a few weeks, Daisy started wagging her tail and walking proudly through the neighborhood. She learned that the sound of a leash meant adventure, not fear.
Three months later, Daisy was adopted by a retired teacher named Marie who calls her “the heart of the house.” Daisy now spends her days curled up on the couch, her favorite blanket always within reach, and a family who can’t imagine life without her.
Why It Matters
Daisy’s transformation is proof that no rescue is too small, and no dog is too broken to heal. When you donate or volunteer, you help make more stories like Daisy’s possible.
